Betty Coed
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Betty Coed is the title of a song recorded by Rudy Vallee, which reached #4 on the charts during 1930.
This song may have been one of the inspirations for the character of Betty Boop.
Betty Coed is also a 1931 Screen Songs animated short, produced by Fleischer Studios and directed by Dave Fleischer. The Screen Songs series took popular songs of the day, added animation to go with the song and presented it in a "follow the bouncing ball" sing along format.
Although not officially considered to be a Betty Boop appearance, this film featured a flapper character that had some similarities to Betty Boop.
