Beyond the Bluesis a book by Shoshana S. Bennett and Pec Indman on post-partum depression. It contains information about risk factors for postpartum depression, diagnosis, treatment , and prevention of prenatal depression (depression during pregnancy) and postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum obsessive-compulsive disorder, postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder, and postpartum psychosis. Discussion includes a variety of treatments modalities for postpartum depression.

Shoshana S. Bennett, Ph.D., licensed psychologist, founded Postpartum Assistance for Mothers in 1987 after her second undiagnosed postpartum illness. Dr. Shoshana is a former President of Postpartum Support International, and immediate past president of California's state organization Postpartum Health Alliance. She is a noted guest lecturer, and her work has been the subject of numerous newspaper articles around the country. Dr. Shoshana has been a featured guest on national radio and television shows, including ABC's "20/20." Her talk radio show on www.WorldTalkRadio.com http://www.worldtalkradio.com/ is heard world-wide, where her presentations are devoted mainly to prenatal topics. For fifteen years prior to her current profession, Dr. Shoshana was a college instructor in the fields of Special Education, Early Childhood Development, Rehabilitation Therapies and Psychology. In addition to three teaching credentials, she holds her second masters degree in Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Counseling. Dr. Shoshana's offices are located in the San Francisco Bay Area and she offers telephone sessions to families throughout the country.
Pec Indman, Ed.D., MFT, has a doctorate in counseling and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist . Dr. Indman trained as a family practice physician assistant at Johns Hopkins University and worked in family practice and women's health care. She continued her education and received a Masters in Health Psychology from the University of Santa Clara. She completed her Doctorate in Counseling at the University of San Fancisco. She has a private practice in psychotherapy in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing in prenatal and postpartum mood disorders and issues related to reproductive health. Dr. Indman is the Northern California and training coordinator for Postpartum Support International, and the former secretary of California's state organization Postpartum Health Alliance. She lectures frequently and is also active in several international perinatal organizations.
