The Bezuidenhout is a district of The Hague, in the stadsdeel Haagse Hout (English: Woods of The Hague). It names comes from its location, meaning south of the Haagse Bos.
In the Second World War this district was heavily bombed by German V-2 rockets.[citation needed] On 3 March 1945 the allies attempted to destroy V-2s and launching equipment near The Hague by a large-scale bombardment, but due to navigational errors the Bezuidenhout was destroyed,
In the southwst of the Bezuidenhout lies the modern Beatrixkwartier
