Bhusawal is a city and a municipal council in Jalgaon district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Bhusawal is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 209 metres (685 feet).
Bhusawal, is located on the bank of Tapi river, is the biggest taluka of Jalgaon district, and situated on National Highway No. 6 (NH6). Bhusawal railway junction is one of the largest railway yards of the Indian subcontinent. The hinterland of Bhusawal is famous for banana cultivation. World Heritage famous Ajanta is about 60 km (Via Jamner) from Bhusawal.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Bhusawal had a population of 172,366. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bhusawal has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 83% and female literacy of 72%. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Bhusawal has very good railway connectivity, and an important divisional headquarters of Central Railway of the Indian Railways. Bhusawal railway junction has rail line connecting Mumbai to Kolkata passing through this place. Also, it has a direct route to Bhopal and Jabalpur of West Central Railway, that passes via Khandwa and Itarsi. There are also direct trains from here to Mumbai and Delhi. Container Corporation of India has established their terminal for transportation of Containers through Railway.

Bhusawal railway division serves the following districts of Maharashtra viz Nashik, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Washim, Yavatmal of Maharashta and Burhanpur, Khandwa districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Bhusawal railway division is divided into three main sections viz. Bhusawal – Igatpuri on Mumbai route, Bhusawal – Khandwa on Itarsi route, and Bhusawal – Badnera section on Nagpur route.
Bhusawal division with a route length of 727 km on broad gauge and 244 km on narrow gauge.

Important railway stations are Igatpuri, Nasik Road, Manmad Junction, Pachora Junction, Chalisgaon Junction, Dhule, Jalgaon Junction at Bhusawal - Igatpuri Section; Burhanpur road, Nepa nagar and Khandwa at Bhusawal - Khandwa Section; and Malkpur, Jalamb Junction, Khamgaon, Shegaon, Akola Junction, Murtajapur Junction, Badnera Junction and Amravati under Bhusawal-Badnera Section.
The stations under narrow gauge are Lakhpuri, Murtajapur Junction, Karanja under two Narrow Gauge Branch lines viz Murtajapur-Achalpur and Murtajapur-Yavatmal of Bhusawal Division of Central Railway.

- M.S.E.B. Power generation plant is near Bhusawal. Power generation campus is known as Deepnagar.
- Zonal Railway Training Institute (Z.R.T.I.) of central railway is also located in Bhusawal.
Ordnance Factory Bhusawal, a division of Indian Ordnance Factories is situated 5 km from the Railway Station. Ordnance Factory Varangaon is situated 20 km from Railway Station. "Satpanth" (Which is a non-secular community) Mandir is situated at Faizpur, is 20 km from Bhusawal. Nageswar temple is situated near Varangaon in Bhusawal Taluka, which is an ancient Shiva temple. The famous traveller and photographer, Lt Col Sanjoy Banerjee hails from Bhusaval.
