BidClix
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The BidClix Advertising Marketplace is an online advertising network with over 5,200 registered publishers and 10,400 registered advertisers. BidClix serves approximately 1.1 billion ads per month, reaching an estimated 25 million individual consumers in the US and international markets.
BidClix is a corporate partner of NetAid, a New York based anti-poverty organization. The company provids free advertising to NetAid. [1]
[edit] History
BidClix was the first online advertising network to create a "self serve" system that, in contrast to other advertising networks which required an employee to manually perform all tasks on behalf of the advertiser or publisher, allowed advertisers to create and manage their advertising campaigns, and allowed publishers to manage their online advertising inventory through a web-based interface. This "self serve" system is widely copied by and mimicked today, and has become the standard in the online advertising industry.
In Dec 2004 BidClix licensed its ActiveMarket technology to Bell Canada, operator of Sympatico.MSN.ca, the largest web portal in the Canadian market. [2] [3]
