[edit] My stance
I like Wikipedia. It spans a vast breadth of human knowledge and is a good starting point for information about practically any topic. There is a fair bit of animosity against Wikipedia and I've encountered some of the strongest opposition from lecturers at Uni. While I understand their concern for its use as an academic resource (which it is not), it is as appropriate for general information as the Encyclopaedia Brittanica or Encarta or any other encyclopedia. Their focus should be on critical interpretation, not merely "Wikipedia bad".

- Update financial figures in Mackay, Queensland that I added in my distant youth.
- Work on furnishing articles for hinterland communities in and around Mackay, from Central Queensland.
- Perhaps add some more info and pictures to Longwall mining.
- Get involved in the Australian Wikipedians' notice board and possibly WikiProject Australian law
