- Why was this page renamed? I think that Birmingham International Airport (US) would be more appropriate than Birmingham International Airport (Alabama). It's not like there is more than one Birmingham International Airport in the United States. ClarkBHM 22:57, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Renaming from Birmingham Municipal
Can anyone provide the details on the renaming of the airport from the Birmingham Municipal Airport to the Birmingham International Airport? I vaguely remember that they were planning on building a new airport, but when the proposed site was revealed to be in Gadsden, the city and state dropped the idea and simply renamed the existing airport.
