The Bishop of Wakefield is the Ordinary of the Church of England Diocese of Wakefield in the Province of York.
The diocese covers south-west Yorkshire. The see is in the City of Wakefield where the seat is located at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, a parish church elevated to cathedral status in 1888.
The Bishop's residence is Bishop's Lodge, Wakefield.
The office has existed since the founding of the diocese in 1888 under Queen Victoria. The Cathedral contains a memorial to Bishop Walsham How, the first Bishop of Wakefield. The current bishop is the Right Reverend Stephen George Platten, the 12th Bishop of Wakefield, who signs Stephen Wakefield.
