Black & Veatch is a multi-discipline, engineering and construction company. The company was founded in 1915 and is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Black & Veatch is active worldwide and provides infrastructure development services in the energy, water, telecommunications, federal and environmental markets. The company was founded as a partnership, but is currently an employee owned corporation. The company offers a wide range of services including conceptual and detailed engineering and design, procurement, construction management, and other consulting services.
Black & Veatch has won numerous industry design awards. The American Public Works Association (APWA) named the City of Los Angeles’ Hyperion Treatment Plant as one of the ten most outstanding public works projects of the 20th Century. This project was designed by Black & Veatch in joint venture with another consulting firm, DMJM, and in partnership with City of Los Angeles staff.
