Black Bison is the name of two DC Comics supervillains.

The first Black Bison was a great shaman in his tribe, Bison-Black-as-Midnight-Sky was capable of amazing magical feats which benefited his people known as the Bison Cult. After his death, he was far less benevolent, possessing the body of his descendant John Ravenhair.

John Ravenhair who was possessed by the angry spirit of his great-grandfather, the shaman Bison-Black-as-Midnight-Sky, adopted the identity of Black Bison is . John Ravenhair set about avenging the wrongs committed against the native American people. When removed from the angry spirit, Ravenhair would occasionally act for good, but was frequently a threat to Firestorm. Black Bison perished in battle with The Spectre during the events depicted in Day of Vengeance.
