[edit] History
New York Alt-Metalcore band. The 2002 formation bloodsimple (originally going by the title Fix 8), featured Vision Of Disorder members vocalist Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy, along with ex-Piece Dogs, Skrew and Medication bassist Kyle Sanders and the Medication, Downset, Crowbar and Deadbolt credited drummer Chris Hamilton.
bloodsimple opened New York shows for Superjoint Ritual in early May 2004. The band signed to Bullygoat Records, the label founded by Chad Gray, vocalist for Mudvayne, in June. The debut record, entitled "A Cruel World", was recorded in Vancouver, Canada with producer Garth Richardson. Initial live promotion saw the band partnered with Otep, American Head Charge and Candiria for the 'Alliance of Defiance' US tour commencing in late February. Summer 2005 US touring had the band partnered with American Head Charge and Static-X in June. The group then teamed up with Byzantine, Gizmachi and headliners Six Feet Under for further US "Masters of Brutality" dates announced as commencing in July. However, this trek would be postponed. Gigs throughout October and November saw the band packaged with Throwdown, Soulfly and Arizona's Incite. ...
On September 24th bloodsimple's concert at Club Voltage in Levittown, New York included an unannounced reunion set by Vision Of Disorder, the former act of singer Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy. bloodsimple opened live campaigning in 2006 by supporting Disturbed on a Jägermeister sponsored tour. March had the band scheduled for 'The Crusade III: Ascend Above The Ashes' concerts in the UK and Ireland alongside God Forbid and Trivium. Drummer Chris Hamilton bowed out in May, forging a new oufit billed Saint Caine in union with former Dropbox members vocalist / guitarist John Kosco and guitarist Joey Wilkinson and and bassist John Eville.
The drummer Brendon Cohen toured with bloodsimple during the summer of 2006, resulting in 3/5's of Vision Of Disorder's classic lineup playing a limited number of shows.
Throughout the summer months bloodsimple backed Stone Sour and the reformed Alice in Chains in Europe, including a significant appearance at the Metallica and Korn headlined 'Download' festival in Castle Donington, UK on June 10th. Working with producer Machine, the band cut a cover version of The Doors "5 To 1" in December 2006.
The band opened 2007 by aligning themselves with Diecast and Sevendust for a lengthy run of US shows scheduled to begin on February 8 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
