[edit] Licensing
This image is of a videotape cover, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the videotape or the studio which produced the videotape in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of videotape covers
- to illustrate the videotape in question
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Help:Image page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
[edit] Fair use
This image, BloodBathBava.jpg, is being linked here; although the picture is subject to copyright I (Hal Raglan) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- According to the Wikipedia:Fair use tag for videotape covers, "it is believed that the use of low-resolution images of videotape covers, to illustrate the movie in question, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law." The videotape cover is a scanned .jpg file. The image has been added to the article to assist in critical commentary/discussion of Twitch of the Death Nerve. Also:
- It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
- It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to market or sell the work in any way.
- This image is used on various websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is.-Hal Raglan 02:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
