BobNetwork
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The bobNetwork is a network of professional and entrepreneurial Bangladeshis in the UK. It is a not for profit organisation with no political or religious bias.
Currently it is estimated that the UK Bengali population (originating mainly from Sylhet) stands at about half a million. The first generation tended to maintain close contact with each other and Bangladesh, as they became established themselves in the UK. These relationships were mainly through informal contact and provided a sense of community through local community associations, mosques and other such organisations.
The second (and third) generations establishing itself in the British society, has found an evergrowing vacuum among within the community. The bobNetwork [1]was formed in 1999 to provide these professionals with an opportunity to meet like-minded people from similar backgrounds to exchange ideas and discuss issues prevalent to the group.
