Bogart's
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For the last three decades Bogart's has been one of the premier concert nightclubs in the country. It is located in the University Heights area of Cincinnati, near the University of Cincinnati. Originally opening in the mid- '70s as a 300-seat club, Bogart's quickly became a regular tour stop for some of the hottest names in the music business. As the club moved into the '80s early tours by the likes of Prince, The Police, and U2 all made stops at Bogart's. After a 1983 expansion, Bogart's solidified it's position as THE showcase club in the Midwest. This led to even more stellar talent coming through the club, including Bob Dylan, R.E.M., The Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam. The club caters to music fans of all genres, booking talent in many diverse areas: rock, pop, reggae, jazz, punk, country, comedy and everything in between. The club is usually all ages unless otherwise noted and regularly hosts competitions for unsigned local acts and even high-school bands. Bogart's offers several full-service bars on the main floor and mezzanine, and also one in the balcony. The venue is managed Live Nation.
