Bong Spirit Company imports fine artisanal spirits from around the world, including their first global offering Bong Vodka from The Netherlands (Holland).[1]
Formed in 2005 by a group of partners from the nightclub and design industries, the Bong Spirit Company combines cutting edge design concepts with hand crafted distilled spirits imported from boutique distilleries around the world. The distinctive bottle and artistic styling for Bong Vodka was created by brand designer Jimi Beach.[2]
Bong Vodka is made from grain and produced through a tedious manual process that includes six distillations and four unique filtration cycles. Bong Vodka was awarded an exceptional rating of 91 points from the Beverage Testing Institute and won two Silver Medals at the 2007 World Spirits Competition in San Fransisco.[3]
In addition to the United States, Bong Vodka is also sold in the United Kingdom and Mexico.
Upon its launch in the United States, Bong Vodka gained approval with several online tastemakers who praised its efforts to promote up and coming artists with its Spirit of the Brand program which produced the company's highly sought after art series bottles.[4] Due to the brands limited distribution, even empty Bong Vodka Artist Bottles have been sold on Ebay for up to $200.
[edit] Origins
The formula for Bong Vodka was created in Holland by five generations of master distillers from the famous spirit-producing port town of Schiedam. This is the same historical region that the Nolet Family has been producing Ketel One since 1691.
