QUIT ADDING BANDS TO 2007. THERE'S NOTHING THERE. IT'S JUST SPECULATION, WHICH DOESN'T BELONG ON WIKI. THANKS

Could the person who wrote about the rumored bands maybe write in where they found these rumors? Good lineup, though. user:kitticow--When Cats and Cows Mix 14:05, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

The use of such a large block of text from www.bonnaroo.com as has recently been added seems to me probably a copyright problem. RivGuySC 02:49, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I agree, think it should be deleted

    -2007 Rumors-

While those listed are interesting bands, there's nothing from any front to show any of these bands as serious rumors. They should be removed unless there's something other than a hunch behind them.

--There are some bands that have confirmed already at this point via their websites, myspace etc. Perhaps we can just add those back in?

    [edit] Setlists?

The inclusion of setlists does not seem necessary? If anything it clutters up the page and is not imperative. Also, the inclusion of setlists appears to be half assed and not complete for every year (for example 2004). I've removed these previously but they keep returning. Can we please get a consensus and finally get rid of the setlists. De Silentio 20:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Setlists, if included, should be split off into a new article, IMO. --dimwell talk contribs .net 19:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

    [edit] Vandalism

Does anyone think that "There will be crack vendors in Centeroo this year for the first time as well!" is probably not a verifiable statement? (Although it is kind of funny)

    I've removed it, and warned the editor.--Esprit15d 18:39, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

There's always people shlankin HubBahs all over the Roo, gotta keep it going afterall!

    [edit] Riverhead, Bonarroo NE

Here's a link to a NYTimes article on how 2 festivals (Bonarroo NE and Field Day) planned for the Enterprise Park site in Riverhead, NY, were cancelled. I don't know if it belongs on the main page, but it's pretty interesting. Imagine if there had actually been a Bonaroo NE since '03?

    http://www.overseasrecords.com/NYtimes1.htm

    [edit] Verify this

Can anyone verify that this thing lasts several days and the goers can camp out without paying multiple entrance fees. My friend said her brother did this a few years ago but i dont believe her. I dont want to add it until i know it's true.Avenged Evanfold 22:01, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

You pay for one ticket and stay on site for three days. There is no entrance fee... just the ticket price, which this year is running about $190. Most people camp out on site since it's a major hassle to enter and exit the festival (due to the large number of people). -DMurphy 05:07, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Having gone this year, yes. You pay $180 for camping and the music.

    [edit] Rumored artists?

does anyone have a source on where the Bonnaroo organizers said they will be adding 16 more artists? I see on the main website that after the round 3 additions they said more to come, but where did the number come from? -DMurphy 05:15, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] March 22, 2006

On 3/22/2006, this page suffered serious vandalization. If anyway added content that they believe was of merit, please add it back, because the entire days edits were reverted.--Esprit15d 14:32, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Bonnaroo Festival 2006

I have been going to this festival for 3 years now, I'm from Detroit, MI. It is a great place for people who are in to music, art, and meeting people. Laying around in the hot Tennessee sun isn't too bad either. There are tons of artists, lots to do, and the people are incredibly friendly. Everyone there is on the same level and just enjoying all that the Superfly entertainment group provides for this festival. You pay your 180 bucks, drive to Tennessee, set up your tent, and the rest is up to you! I'm totally psyched for this year's lineup as well as some of the other assets (microbrew tasting, freakshow, cabernet, movie tents, art/food vendors). As far as artist additions, I think the 5th round was the last though I really want SCI, Flaming Lips, or Wilco to be added. This is truly a place to come and lose yourself for a weekend, the best music festival in the country!

is wikipedia a message board now?69.181.121.40

    [edit] main features?

the article says: The main attractions of the festival are the multiple stages of live music, featuring mostly jam bands (categorized as progressive fusion), but also including hip hop, jazz, Americana, electronica, and other alternative music. that is not true at all, especially not for this year.

Yes it is. hip hop: Common, Blackalicious, Cyprus Hill. Jam Bands: Moe., Phil Lesh & Friends. Jazz: Soulive & Bill Frisell. Americana: Mike Gordon & Ramble Dove, Shooter Jennings, Tom Petty. Electronica: you could almost say Radiohead, Dungen. and other alternative music: Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, the Magic Numbers, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. so no, i think that's a very good discription of the variety of music. there should be a direct reference however to Reggae which was very prominent this year.

--Radiohead-- Let it be known that any statement lauding Radiohead as the highlight of Bonnaroo is merely one of opinion. In fact, many people found Radiohead to be boring and quite the downer. Some were even overhead sayign that they thought Radiohead is nothing but a band of suicidal tools who need some talent knocked into them.

Re: Radiohead-- Then again, many people (myself included) saw Radiohead as the act that rose leaps and bounds above the rest. They opened this concert up to a whole different group of people, displayed their talent for diversity, and played an amazing, long set. I admit that Radiohead may not be for everyone, as it took me years to fully understand what the fuss was about, but once you fall for them, it is as if they stand taller than any other band. Their music grabs you-- and the concert, according to the many people I spoke to, was akin to that of an epiphany. It is my new standard as far as concerts go. They were named the best live rock band in the world for a reason...and after Bonnaroo, I believe it.

Re: Radiohead-- I've read the negative reviews on some message boards as well, however for me, it was an amazing performance. I've seen them a few times, and this was just astounding.

Re: Radiohead-- Whether or not they put on a good show is besides the point. When you say "many people (myself included) saw Radiohead as the act that rose leaps and bounds above the rest" you're using what are known as weasel words: Wikipedia:Avoid_weasel_words It may be a widely held opinion that Radiohead is the greatest band in the universe ever, but Wikipedia isn't the place for any opinion.

Re: Radiohead-- The article uses the term "highlight", which is defined as "An especially significant or interesting detail or event." (http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/highlight). It doesn't mean good or bad, just that it was of note. I don't see the problem. Since probably close to 70K of the 80K in attendance were there, it must have been a highlight. Plus, that was the only song where glowsticks were thrown.

Re: As a comparison, I thought Radiohead's show @ Bonnaroo 06 was the best thing Id ever seen live, but a friend of mine found it so intense and dark and he wigged out and tossed his cookies.

    [edit] NPOV

This article is a POV nightmare, mostly the 2006 section. Please make efforts to verify opinions from noted sources, and avoid opinions in general if possible. I will be making efforts to bring the writing in harmony with WP policy. --Esprit15d 13:14, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Bonnaroo

This area needed cleaned up badly. Hopefully there can be better communication here before edits, especially adding 2007 rumors.

    • note 1 - Sufjan Stevens is not touring summer 2007. Sorry.
    • note 2 - Carlos Santana's official site says that he is not touring in 2007, so no Roo appearance.
    • note 3- Artists who plan on not touring summer 2007 could always decide to play Bonnaroo, as it is obviously different than a tour. You guys are smart, real smart, you must have some music industry insider information.
    • Nirvana ended when Kurt Cobain did.
    • Soundgarden is broken up.
So are Rage Against the Machine. They're headlining a day of Coachella. Darquis 02:27, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Sublime also is no more.
    • The Doors are no longer together.

What's the deal with this? 21:55, 11 January 2007 Shadowbot (Talk | contribs) (RV -- Reverting edits by Sigsherman due to detected spam.)

I was adding legimate content to the article and spent hours compiling setlists. Would someone like to shed some light on this matter ~Sigsherman

    [edit] One Problem

Umm it says that Jerry Garcia is playing at the 2007 bonnaro festival. One problem *caugh* he's dead. I will assume good faith and delete him from the list.

    Dennis Kussinich 08 20:39, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Wait, now it says that Bob Marley is proforming. I am deleting the whole section.

    Dennis Kussinich 08 20:41, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Seriously, who keeps messing with the wikipedia page? Obviously Nirvana and Sublime are not playing.

    [edit] Feb 4, 2007

I undid most of the blanking done on this page because it seemed to have no purpose and no edit history to explain it. Darquis 02:27, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

    [edit] The Police in 2007?

"The 2007 festival is scheduled for June 14-17 and the initial artist announcement is scheduled for February 14, 2007. As of February 12th, The Police are the first headlining band to be announced, which was via Billboard [1].

As of February 12, the following have confirmed to play the festival this year (via their own websites or MySpace): The Police, Cold War Kids, Fountains of Wayne, The Hold Steady, Uncle Earl, & Michael Franti & Spearhead & John Butler Trio. According to Bonnaroo's own website, the recently reunited Police will also appear."

    • That's fair enough, but maybe we should mention that The Police wil be there? 82.6.83.187 05:09, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

There are waaaaaaaay to many links in this article. They have to be trimmed.--Esprit15d (talk ¤ contribs) 18:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

There are waaaaaaaay to many captains on this ship. 5 months those links have been posted with no complaints, how do I know this because I added them. I contributed a truckload of information to this article. Keep adding to an article but don't add too much, don't add this but add this. I'm done. adios ~Sigsherman
