Brazen Head
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Brazen Head was a prophetic device purportedly invented by Francis Bacon. It was in the form of a man's head (possibly tonsured, like a monk's), and could correctly answer any question asked of it.
The Brazen Head appears in Robert Greene's play Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay (1589).
The brazen head was popularized in Robertson Davies "Fifth Business".
