I'm a fountain of useless information. Most recently had to explain to a family member that a pound cake is called such because the recipe calls for one pound of each ingredient. She didn't believe me.
I'm currently working on cleaning up The Electrifying Mojo and Midnight Funk Association and also started Oakland County Child Killer. The first two articles are now the number one hits for a google search with the last article appearing on google page 3.
If those articles bother me too much I find other things to fix. I like to edit things (muwahaha) and I've certainly found no shortage of that here on wikipedia. Helping to remove the backlog of articles that need to be wikified can be fun but most often I find that others have cleaned the article without removing the tag. After cleaning the article I often retag it for sources or categories needed.
It's amazing to me how many articles submitted to WP are attempts at advertising by businesses or individuals. Likewise the amount of articles written in bad English. I'm beginning to believe that I could spend the rest of my life doing nothing but editing articles. I am impressed however, with the number of bots that have been created to patrol articles for various tasks. I wonder how many additional articles there are that haven't been discovered yet.
I'm now convinced that Wikipedia should ban the IP blocks coming from India or Pakistan. Why? Well, it seems that the vast majority of articles marked for wikification are about some person or place from those two countries and almost always done in very poor English, and POV. This creates a huge burden on cleanup people trying to keep things coherent. Of course you really can't ban IP blocks just for this reason but the people over at Wiki Project India weren't much concerned based on their lack of response.
