[edit] Personal life
Born in 1989 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Plouffe started attending St. John's-Ravenscourt School in Grade 8, while playing Midget AAA hockey with the Winnipeg Wild. He realized his dream in 2006 when he made the Calgary Hitmen team of the WHL.
Plouffe is a self-described play-making defenceman. He doesn't allow his small stature get in the way of his playing, as he uses his head to get around bigger players.[1]He hopes to continue his hockey career in the NHL, preferably with the Toronto Maple Leafs, his favourite team. He surely has a future in the NHL or will be able to become anything he wants to be.
He wears number 2 after NHL player Al MacInnis. His favourite player of all time is Paul Coffey, but Keegan Dansereau has number seven, so he went with his second choice.
He is well known for his car, a Buick Regal, for his love of reading books, and being an avid The Lord of the Rings fan. His favorite author is Clive Cussler. He enjoys golfing with friends at golf courses, such as Southwood, and relaxing at his lake just outside of Pinawa, Manitoba. He has two sisters and two dogs named Talon and Rip. His mother is a nurse practitioner and his father is a firefighter.
[edit] International Play
In 2005, Plouffe represented Canada-West at the World Under-17 World Championships held in Regina, Saskatchewan.
