Brian Balmages

Brian Balmages is a well-known composer who created the piece "Olympia". Olympia is a reference to the music played in Olympia, the country where the Olympics originated from.
Born in 1975, Brian received his bachelor's degree in music from the University of Miami(FL).
His works have been performed internationally at conferences such as The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, The International Tuba/Euphonium Conference, The International Trumbone Festival, and The International Trumpet Guild Conference. His list of commisions includes many schools and universities as well as The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, "JUNCTION", and The Riverside Wind Symphony. He is sought after as a conductor, clinician,and composer. He is a composer-in residence for The Mid-Atlantic Wind Conductors Conference and Skyline Brass Music Festival.
Brian studied trumpet with James Kluesner,Don Tison,and Gilbert Johnson. In addition to being a freelance musician, he current ly performs with the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Florida Chamber Orchestra, and the Skyline Brass.
