Brian Murphy (hurler)

Brian Murphy (born 1982) is an Irish sportsman. He plays in the corner-back position on the Cork senior hurling team.
A player with the Bride Rovers GAA club in County Cork Murphy has won many honours as a hurler with his club and county. In 2000 he won a Munster Minor Championship medal with Cork, later going on to win Munster Intermediate, All-Ireland Intermediate and Munster Senior Championship hurling honours in 2003.[citation needed] Murphy played his first full season with the Cork senior hurlers in 2004 and went on to win his first All-Ireland senior hurling medal with Cork. Although he wasn't named on the All Star team, he was awarded the honour of Vodafone Young Hurler of the Year. In 2005 he won his second Munster Championship medal and his second All-Ireland medal. In 2006 Murphy won another Munster medal.
