Brian Ward

Brian Ward is political operative at the parliament of the European Union in Brussels, aligned with the Irish political party Fine Gael.
[edit] Early Life
Brian was born in Dublin in 1981. He was brought up in Raheny where he continues to live while in Ireland.
[edit] College Career
Brian began a bachelor of Arts (German and Politics) at University College Dublin in 2000 and graduated in 2004. He went on to study a Masters in Politics, also at UCD, and achieved a double first. His dissertation was on the decision of Tony Blair to commit the UK to war in Iraq. During his time in college he was the auditor of PolSoc from 2002 to 2003, and led the society to its most successful year ever. He spent a year in the University of Potsdam on the ERASMUS programme, from 2003 to 2004, and is fluent in German.

Upon graduating he was accepted to the “Gistage” internship programme at the European Parliament in Brussels, and worked in the Department of Finance. After the internship ended he was employed by Avril Doyle MEP, as a political assistant and speechwriter. He continues to work for Ms Doyle, who is aligned with the political party Fine Gael.
