Bridgwater's 107.4 BCR FM is a United Kingdom radio station.
Many trial stations took place in Bridgwater, the first was conducted by Keri Jones, who successfully launched Quaywest Radio in West Somerset. The first trial (Restricted Service Licence) station went on air in April 1996 on 105.4. This was followed by 4 week trial stations called Riverside 105, BCR FM and Sedgemoor Coast FM. These groups all ran trial stations between 1996 and 1999. In 1999 the Radio Authority (now OFCOM) announced that Bridgwater was to get it own full time radio service. Bidding took place by 4 groups, Bridge FM, BCR FM, Sedgemoor Coast FM and Riverside 105.
BCR FM won the licence in May 2000 and went on air on 4th July 2001.
The station has been through a few ownership changes during it's time on air, but has always remained a local service for the area.
The station ceased broadcasting at 10pm on 28th February 2007 and was relaunched Quaywest 107.4 to bring it in line with a station of the same name in West Somerset called Quaywest 102.4 & 100.8
The current owners of both stations are Laser Broadcasting, which also own a cluster of stations in the Midlands.
