"Brighter than a Thousand Suns" is a song by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden and is written by Adrian Smith, Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson. The song is featured on their 2006 album, A Matter of Life and Death.
The song is about the atomic bomb; Bruce Dickinson said in an interview with Kerrang! that the title refers to the description of an atomic explosion by a scientist who witnessed the first one. The scientist alluded here is J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was the scientific director of the Manhattan Project.
