Britny Fox
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Britny Fox is a glam metal band from the Philadelphia area, currently featuring singer Tommy Paris, guitarist Michael Kelly Smith, bassist "Wild" Billy Childs, and drummer Johnny Dee. They are best known for their music video "Girlschool" and their Billboard Hot 100 hit "Long Way to Love (#100)". They released a demo titled In America in 1986, which drummer Tony Destra reportedly played on. Their first album Britny Fox (1988) was one of the most successful premieres of the 1988-89 season, selling about one million copies and bringing more than 625,000 fans to their 130+ shows. They also won Metal Edge Magazine's 1988 Reader's Choice Award for Best New Band. After the release of their second album Boys In Heat (1989), original frontman Davidson left the group, and formed the group Blackeyed Susan. He was replaced by Las Vegas native Tommy Paris, who remains in the band to this day. Guitarist Zakk Wylde and Poison drummer Rikki Rockett guested on their third album Bite Down Hard (1991). Britny Fox is a band that originated from Cinderella the band.
Britny Fox are still releasing records, their latest being Springhead Motorshark (2003). Britny Fox guitarist Michael Kelly Smith (also known as Michael Smerick) was previously in an early version of Cinderella. The late drummer Tony Destra also played in both Cinderella and Britny Fox. A new album, tentatively entitled "Cock Out with our Rock Out", is rumored to be forthcoming.
Drummer Adam West played for Britny Fox between the time of Tony Destra and Johnny Dee.
