I find when I click on someone's else talk page, I get annoyed having to go back and forth between someone else's talk page to follow a discussion. So on my own talk page, I include my own comments (lifted from whoever's talk page I posted them on) in italics. In case you're just that fascinated in my conversations.

Hey there stud Nixon here. I find you lurking in the funniest places. Haven't heard much from you since BrightRoom production. I've been doing my geeky-Wiki thing. Completely re-authored the Stikfas page, and am going to begin working on the many web-comixpedia pages that need help.
Drop me an email when you get a chance. Good to see you virtual. Nixon 17:21, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Star Trek/Doctor Who userboxes
Hi - I read your vote on the template deletion page. As far as I can see, the new template allows you to specify which series you are a fan of, so you end up with an identical userbox, and placed in the category for that specific series. Before I vote, I guess I'm wondering if you saw something I missed. Thanks! --Brian Olsen 18:56, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Hello Brian. I have noticed the same explanation. However, I am not sure if the proposed solution would allow me to check who else is a fan of, say, the Voyager series which is something I can do now (as there is a special template for each series). The way I see it, the new solution would just let you specify the show on your user page, but we would be all under the same generic Star Trek heading. I may be wrong though. RedZebra 19:09, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
After extensive testing on my talk page, I have discovered I was wrong. I will write an explanation on the project page and retract my keep vote. RedZebra 19:34, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to see before I cast my own vote. --Brian Olsen 20:52, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Userboxes discussion
I've moved a transcluded discussion about userboxes to a subpage at User talk:Brian Olsen/Userboxes.
[edit] ArbCom
I’m bothered by the wording of the category in which you've placed me above: "They're not (as) militant about it, but, through either unawareness of the unethical tactics by the above group, or quiet acceptance of it, they seem to be allied with the gang." I don’t care for the implication that my opinion is based either on ignorance or on acceptance of unethical tactics. Have you used this wording elsewhere? Putting this on your talk page is one thing, but if you've put it on any page related to the arbitration, I’d like the opportunity to refute it. Thanks. --Brian Olsen 06:18, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Regardless of whether or not your name is used anywhere in the ArbCom proceeding, you are more than welcome to participate by adding a statement or evidence at any time. In fact, I encourage you to make your viewpoint known, and to participate in the Workshop page. :) --Elonka 19:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for changing the wording when you posted this on the Evidence page. I don't completely agree with your description of the first group, but I appreciate you removing the implications I mentioned from your reference to me. --Brian Olsen 00:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] National Shakespeare Conservatory
Hi! As a fellow alum, just wanted to say thanks for creating the page for NSC. I don't seem to have much wikitime lately, but I may dive into it at some point in the near future. Just out of curiosity, where did you get that list of alums? I see myself, but nobody else in my class, so I'm assuming it's not by year... Also wondering if we were there at the same time - 94-95? --Brian Olsen 03:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for noticing! And please feel free to enter anything you believe noteworthy. That article is a long-term effort. Actually, I got the list simply by doing a Google search for the school's name, which turned up a whole bunch of people mentioning they graduated. I attended the NSC circa 1986-88. My class's fourth-term plays included Twelfth Night (directed by Mario) and The Royal Family (directed by Casey). A little earlier that year Jimmy Tripp directed Macbeth. The year before, I was stage manager for Lisa's The Boyfriend and the year after I ended up stage manager for Cloud Nine. When did you attend? Zahir13 04:45, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was there in 94-95 (just one year), right at the end. In fact, the people in my class who stayed were the last graduating class before it was shut down. I think the faculty must have changed quite a bit since you were - Jimmy Tripp is the only person you named who was there when I was, I think. I'm hoping I have a chance to take a better look at the article this weekend - I think I have the logo somewhere, I may scan and add it. --Brian Olsen 03:16, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dalek FAR
Hi - just wanted to say good job on all the work you've been doing on the featured article review, and sorry that you seem to be (mostly) going it alone. I've really wanted to chip in, but real life stubbornly refuses to acknowledge my need for wiki-time (plus, I own very few reference materials). I hope I can be of more help on citing the other featured articles. --Brian Olsen 06:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the thought. It's been a surprisingly long slog, but I think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel... —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 06:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Many thanks to you both
Hello Josiah Rowe and Brian Olsen. I just want to pass along my thanks to you both for different things.
First, many, many thanks Josiah for the Barnstar. It is always nice to be appreciated and getting this from the Doctor Who project will make it a most treasured award.
Second, thanks to you Brian for your note in relation to my posting on the projects discussion page. I am thinking about taking you up on your offer of joining the project but I have a couple of questions/concerns for you both.
- As a wikignome I enjoy flitting all over wikipedia helping where I can. If this leaves me unavailable to focus on Doctor Who work is that okay.
- I am not very computer literate so there may be things like templates that I can't be helpful with.
- I am afraid that when I get into some of the policy pages my eyes glaze and my brain fills with cotton candy (for example if I had just looked at the main page for the DW project my question would have been answered about the style guidelines for the individual serials pages). I guess what I am driving at is that if I am doing anything out of line I will be looking for help in getting it right.
If you will let me know what you think - when you have time - I will look forward to hearing from you and, once again, many thanks to you both. MarnetteD | Talk 00:45, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
