Bruce Olson wrote the autobiography Bruchko about his experiences in South America.
Bruce Olson is a Scandinavian-American Christian missionary who traveled to the jungles of South America at the age of nineteen. What differentiates him from many of the other missionaries of his time was that rather than "Westernizing" or "Americanizing" the indigenous Motilone Bari, he made a concerted effort to become a part of the indigenous tribe.
Previous to meeting the Motilone Bari he also worked with another indigenous tribe, the Yukos
