[edit] History
Bukit Panjang Government High School was established in 1960 following the merger of Bukit Panjang Secondary School and Chua Chu Kang Government Chinese Middle School. The new school was housed in one single school building at Jalan Teck Whye, the first 'integrated' government school in Singapore whereby both English and Chinese stream students were studying under the same roof. On 11 January 1960, the school was officially opened by then Minister of Education, Yong Nyuk Lin. It was the first secondary school to be opened in the rural West Zone of Singapore.
In 1976, the CCA block first suggested in 1969 was completed. The Bukit Panjang-Tech Whye Band won first at the Youth Festival Band Display Competition and Best Drum Major Award. In 1985, the English Language programme was launched.
The year 1993 marked a new beginning for the school as it moved to its next location at Choa Chu Kang from Jalan Teck Whye. In 1994, the school was one of the first six schools to be granted autonomous status.

English version
Forward forward on to glory;
let's march in wisdom hand in hand;
to build our school's and nation's story,
with pride in our multi-racial land.
Come fear no hardship,
live and toil in duty, strength and devotion;
like the granite of our soil,
we will build a hardy nation.
Bukit Panjang, Bukit Panjang,
how proudly our school stands amid the hills!
Diligent in study and practice
is our motto and our will.
