[edit] merge with mcdojo
They both seem very similar words, if not neoglisms that don't belong on WP. --frothT C 01:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Agree - on both points. At the very least they should be merged with McDojo redirected here.Peter Rehse 01:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Not this again. There have been numerous votes already on this topic and the terms are distinctive enough to merit their own pages. McDojo refers to business practices; Bullshido refers to crappy martial arts. Please see the Bullshido talk page archives for details. Talk:Bullshido/Archive_1 --Scb steve 02:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Have to agree with Steve, this is beating a dead horse. The terms are often confused having them merged would make matters worse, also to make the page a sensible size info would be lost. --Nate1481 02:54, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
It seems like this has AfD'd at least twice.. you guys can't ignore the outcome of an AFD just because something else is decided on the talk page --frothT C 05:26, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Also I don't understand how the distinction is so important. If McDojos practice Bullshido, then why not just mention on the Bullshido page that it's "practiced by mcdojos", maybe salvage a little content from mcdojo, and make it a redirect? --frothT C 05:33, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Because not all McDojo's practice or have Bullshido. Schools that have belt testing fees, made up belt colors, long-term contracts and the like can still turn out capable fighters; hence, not being Bullshido. Conversely, schools without testing fees, belts, or contracts can teach utterly BS martial arts that will get someone killed or hurt; hence, Bullshido. They are entirely different, but inter-related terms. Additionally, the fact that the article HAS survived multiple AfD's and also was recognized as being distinct from McDojo means that there was significant community consensus to that fact. This is simply stirring the pot and trying to stir up controversy on an already settled matter. --Scb steve 12:41, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

- For a discussion on MA terms some MA background is useful, this could prob do with a mention on WP:Martial Arts and WP:MMA --Nate1481 14:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

- The community consensus seems to be merge, that's why I bring them up.. --frothT C 21:24, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I count 2 for 2 against here... how is that a consensus? The last vote has a majority of keeps --Nate1481 03:29, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's 5 days later with little discussion. I'm removing the tags and allowing the prior established decision to stand for separate McDojo and Bullshido articles. --Scb steve 17:02, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
