Burnout 5 is a video game in the Burnout series. It was announced on August 29, 2006 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will be set in the fictional Paradise City and is suspected to have an Open World much like the multiplatform title Test Drive Unlimited.[1]
According to Alex Ward from developer Criterion Games, Burnout 5 will be a "complete reinvention" of the series.[2] He also said "To create truly next-generation gameplay, we needed to create a truly next-generation game, from top to bottom." Records will now be kept on player's drivers licenses. More information was revealed by EA on December 7th when they announced another Burnout game: Burnout Dominator. Burnout Dominator does not relate to Burnout 5 and is a separate game altogether. [3]
Though the exact use of it in the game is currently unknown, Alex Ward has also announced that the HD Eye Toy and the Xbox Live Vision camera will be used in Burnout 5.[4]
