Burstaar (comics)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Burstaar is a comic book character in Marvel Comics. He is the son of the former Fantastic Four villain, Blastaar. He is considered a villain in his own right and an enemy of Captain Marvel.
Before he battled Captain Marvel, Burstaar was exiled from Baluur along with Blastarr, but Blastarr hid him in an undisclosed location during much of his life. Blastaar had Burstaar trained, but was willing to sacrifice him at a whim for his own goals. Burstaar is an ally to the Supreme Intelligence and the Kree.
Burstaar has only appeared a scant few times; all of which in the pages of Peter David's Captain Marvel title. The first time Burstaar fought Captain Marvel, his father Blastaar was present and looked at the battle as a rite of passage; refusing to help his son when the tide turned against him. The second time Burstaar and Captain Marvel fought, Captain Marvel broke Burstaar's neck; killing him. Later in that same issue, Captain Marvel resurrected Burstaar from the dead just to prove that raising the dead was now within his capabilities. Though later Marvel would admit that his resurrections were not permanent.
