- Redirect, in the interests of avoiding controversy. The dispute between "Burma" and "Myanmar" is a political/ideological issue, so it seems likely to me that some people might look for this category. Madame Sosostris 00:12, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

- Keep. China is to People's Republic of China as Burma is to Myanmar (another comparision would be Russia and the Soviet Union). Categorize Myanmar as a subcategory of Burma, and place subcategories in the proper place. Neutralitytalk 05:28, Feb 17, 2005 (UTC)
- China and the People's Republic of China have different boundaries. Same with Russia and the Soviet Union. Burma simply changed its name to Myanmar. If there were separate Category:Siam and Category:Thailand, Category:Kampuchea and Category:Cambodia, or Category:Formosa and Category:Taiwan, then I'd agree with this logic. There aren't.
