Proud volunteer staff member for Wikimania 2006. Normally when I attend an event, I can only tell everybody how cool what I saw was. Since this event has mp3 archives of each panel and conference, and videos of various quality posted for many, if you're curious why I enjoyed it so much, you can find yourself by watching the Lawrence Lessig speech [1] and the Brewster Kahle speech [2]. That will get you into what I got. Please don't miss the chance to catch their passion and vision.
I'm interested in American History, especially the formative 19th century.
My first attempts to contribute were fill-in articles for the USMC Commandant series, Looper5920 and ERcheck have since made many of these almost artful.
It is a sad statement of our read-only culture which values trite shlock, when far superior science-fiction and fantasy works can be found in used book stores for pennies, and when amazing authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Herman Melville, James Fenimore Cooper, Lewis Carroll, and H. G. Wells are all available for free online.
