Buttermilk and Cigarettes is a 2004 dark comedy short film starring Daniel Alan Kiely in one of his first acting roles. The movie was shot in Centerburg, Ohio, over the course of just one day.
Shady McGee, a young man forced to leave his bare apartment, unsure of what to do or where to go, is having a bad day that just couldn't get any worse. Carrying not even enough money to eat, he may be overcome with the temptation to steal. Meanwhile, a joyful jogger embarks on his daily jog to purchase a few items from the local market for his verbally abusive girlfriend. With a grin stretching from ear to ear, things just couldn't appear to be better for him. Comical mayhem ensues when these two strangers happen to cross paths.
