I'm not sure about the article title. Did the Greek pronounce "Tus" as "তুস" or "Tas"? Also, the transliteration of Greek should be গ্রীক, not গ্রিক, because the ee is pronounced as ঈ, not ই। --Ragib 21:09, ১২ এপ্রিল ২০০৬ (UTC)
- The greek pronounciation of tus is তুস. And গ্রীক/গ্রিক are both correct. The new practice in spelling is to use ঈ in foreign words as less as possible: ইংরেজি, গ্রিক, ইত্যাদি। --- অর্ণব 21:34, ১২ এপ্রিল ২০০৬ (UTC)

- yes, that's how it's spelt in all the new editions of Bangla Academy dictionaries. Plus it has been in practice in the West Bengal since the late 80s I think. --- অর্ণব 22:03, ১২ এপ্রিল ২০০৬ (UTC)

- Hmmm, too bad I left my Bangla Academy dictionary back home ... will have to bring one with me next time. This reminds me, after we get settled here, we'd probably have to focus on the bn wiktionary, to create a free online tool for issues like Bangla spelling. I'm confused at times about the spelling of some words. Also, could you take a look at the districts template? I haven't touched the ddistricts whose spellings I wasn't totally sure of.
