César Martín Villar (born April 3, 1977) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Bolton Wanderers. César started his professional career in 1994 playing for Real Oviedo. From there he moved to Deportivo La Coruña for approximately €7.4 million.[1]At Deportivo he won one la Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Supercup.
For Spain he was in the UEFA European Football Championship squad in 2004, but did not play. Despite showing early promise his international career never fully took off, mostly because of injury troubles and the emergence of players like Carles Puyol and Pablo Ibanez.
César fell out of favour when Joaquín Caparrós took over as manager of Deportivo, and because of this, and consistent injury troubles, he moved to Levante UD on the 18th of July, 2006. Things did not improve at Levante where he only appeared three times, getting sent off in one game. On the 31st of January 2007 he cancelled his contract with Levante UD by mutual consent.
César joined Bolton Wanderers in February 2007 on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
