[…] a contemporary urban fantasy about Margrit Knight, a young lawyer who finds herself involved with Alban Korund, a gargoyle who's wanted for murder. As Margrit is drawn into his world, she's exposed to more of the Old Races--fantastic peoples whose existence is the stuff of legends--and once she knows about them, they all want to use her as a pawn in tensions that are building toward racial war. Margrit will find herself torn between Alban's world and her own, struggling to keep his secrets even as she tries to keep herself alive.[1]
