Cadomian Orogeny

Period between the Neoproterozoic and the Cambrian era where was formed mountains that form basement of many parts of Europe. These rocks are found in Irish Sea, in the Midlands, in northern France, in southern Germany, in Bohemia, in southern Poland and in southwest Iberian Peninsula. The name comes from Cadomus, Caen in Latin.
