Call of Duty first opened up a new game series based on World War II.

Call of Duty is the first installment of the series, earning a Game Of The Year Award, and an Excellence In Audio Award. It was based on the Quake III Engine. Infinity Ward developed it, which is actually the first game the company had ever made. The game made them a well known company, and helped them create Call of Duty 2.
[edit] Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty: United Offensive is an Expansion Pack to the first installment of the series. This game was created by Gray Matter Interactive and had vehicles that were included. It also included a ranking system.
[edit] Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty: Finest Hour is a Console Spin-Off of Call of Duty. It actually includes Online Play which can hold up to 32 player on the Xbox.

Call of Duty 2 is the second installment of the series, it had increased it's graphics and gameplay by adding many different effects. Infinity Ward returned to make this sequel. The playable sides are the Americans, the British, and the Russians.
[edit] Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is a console game developed by Treyarch, based around the American 1st Infantry Division. The game was released at around the same time as Call of Duty 2 for the PC and Xbox 360, but the two games have nothing in common.

Call of Duty 3 is the third installment of the series, but not made by Infinity Ward. It is the first numerical game in the series not to appear on the PC.

Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is being released for the PlayStation Portable. It is scheduled for release in March 2007.

Call of Duty 4, currently under development will be the fourth installment of the series, with developers Infinity Ward returning to take over from Treyarch. Available for PC and next-gen consoles Little details are known about the game but some sources claim that the Call of Duty series is taking a break from the war-torn locales of World War II and focusing on the ongoing conflict in the middle east. The game boasts that head shots now have 16 critical points and players are even able to shoot off ears. Multiplayer games are now able to accomoodate 54 up to players. Call of Duty 4 is scheduled for late 2007/2008.
