Callisto is a Finnish post-metal band with a sound similar to the likes of early Isis and Cult of Luna. Whilst their first album True Nature Unfolds has a strong sludge metal and doom influence, the sophomore album Noir is more influenced by old-school post-rock bands like Mogwai and Magyar Posse. Apart from featuring female vocals on some songs, they have used unexpected instruments, for example saxophone and cello.
Callisto's short and cryptic lyrics contain Christian themes and references.
