[edit] Killa Season album sales

i've noticed that alot of people seem to be changing the sales figures on that one. well i found these two pages:

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?referrerid=19874&t=168941

&

http://therapup.blogspot.com/2006/07/soundscan-chart-july-17th-july-24th.html

now, accourding to these sources, killa season had sold roughly 205,000 copies total by the middle of june, and 234,000 total by the end of july. i decided to do some math. factor in that cam'ron dropped on the 16th of may and sold 114,000 copies his first week, 38,000 his second[1], 25,000 his third[2], 16,000 his forth, 12,000 his 5th, and about 5-7 thousand each week after that. now, since most artist's sales figures fall off significantly over the course of an album's shelf life, i figured he at least did 28k in the month of august. and had at least a 4,000 drop off each subsequent month that followed. bringing his total since then to about 108,000 sold. which means he has sold roughly 342,000 copies to date.

and btw, if someone has proof killa season has sold more, please submit a valid link proving otherwise. don't just type asylum records verified it, and when i go to their site to check it out i don't find a single thing that backs up that statement. let's keep things unbias.

[edit] Inaccuracies

The whole IBS reference in the FIRST paragraph seems a little unnecessary...

I agree. --Zimbabweed 03:36, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

This is one of the sloppiest articles on Wiki. It's definitely cool but someone needs to clean this bad boy up.

jay-z or one of his fans made a swagger jacker 2, in wich there are examples where camron is biting --195.96.119.90 16:00, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, he probably did. But in my personal opinion, if Cam'ron does it, he does it funny. Jay-Z just bites and ain't even funny with what he takes from B.I.G and elsewhere. So Cam 1 Jay 0 (Of course, this is just my opinion - as I pointed out). --A-ixemy 03:05, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
people hella overstate how much Hov bites. plus he obviously looked up to BIG, don't see what the huge deal is.
not you but i've read way too many lame comments elsewhere 'bout "well Hov wouldn't be able to write if he stopped biting from Biggie." my left nut
need to get into some Cam'ron though, i ain't really heard anything to judge, other than that track "Down and Out" (dope Kanye beat.) ya got any album suggestions -- hear Purple Haze's supposed to be good 64.7.89.54 08:06, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

On Jim Jones' Hot97 interview, he states he never called or spoke to Curtis to "clarify Cam's comments" or whatever it says under the section about Cam and 50's beef.

CAM IS A DON! CURTIS WHAT A FAKE BLOOD! SUWOOOOP!

[edit] Bias and vandalism

There seems to be a lot of bias against Cam'ron and many acts of vandalism on this page especially in the Feuds section and alot of changes in the discography section. Right now all of the information is correct but from time to time things get erased and changed. Somebody should really take some time and remove anything that seems unecessary.

I agree, though it almost seems useless with the rabid vandalism. MarsAttacks 03:35, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Maybe we could make this a protected page? I'm not sure how it works but it would be best if only those registered can edit this page.

Alright I think it's time to start blocking this repeated vandalizer (and only vandalizer of this page) if anybody could do it for me I would really appreciate it because I admit I'm a newbie to this this stuff. But the same ip 71.246.92.xxx is constantly editing the discography section. I have contuiually gave him warnings but I think the rate at which it is happening is getting out of hand. Can somebody report and block this ip..thanks in advance.--Datpiff 02:28, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Whoever keeps changing Cam'ron's sales numbers in the disography section needs to go and check out RIAA.com [3]. Cam'ron only has two gold and one platinum album. please stop changing the numbers and let's keep things unbias.--thetruth86 02:10, 04 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it's a dispute of actual figures; they are vandalizing it and it's always the same person from the ip range 71.246.92.xxx.--Datpiff 07:02, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

There are several sources besides the RIAA confirming that Cam'ron went gold with S.D.E. from Yahoo! Music [4], askmen.com [5], and Cam'ron himself. Asylum records also confirms the certifications [6].--Datpiff 00:12, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey I found another source from the washington post confirming the gold albums[7].

[edit] Citations

Could somebody cite those awards and nominations. I tried my best but couldn't figure it out; the information is accurate but just needs to be cited.

I found the citation for the cam 50 spat "http://media.hot97.com/_SHARED/podcasts/angie_50cent_02012007.mp3"

In the feuding section it is said that jim jones called to clear up the beef but jim jones says that is a lie so that infois disputable here is the interviewhttp://www.xclusivetrax.com/index.php?option=com_traxartist&task=playSong&id=3750#play

[edit] Year of Birth

He was born in 1976, not 1978. He stated it himself in the intro to Purple Haze. [8]

Race Why Does It Say He Is An Afican-American Puerto Rican Rapper This Dosent Make Much Sense I Thought He Was Full African-American And If This Is Which Of His Parents Are Of An African-American Desent And Which On Is Of A Puerto Rican Desent I Really Dont Belive He Is Half Purto Rican Is There Any Proof

He is half Dominican. He has mentioned it many times in the past. That should be common knowledge by now. cerebralshrike 03:12, February 5 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birth Date

he says in the album intro (purple haze) his birth date is "2 zero 4, 76" Feb 4, 1976 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.49.222.48 (talk) 20:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC).Cam'ron is half Puerto Rican, and Half African American. Its common sense look at his last name Giles. Cam'Ron father is Puerto Rican, and his mother is African American similar to Jim Jones except his mother is of aruban ancestry, and Jim Jones father is Puerto rican.

[edit] The Bias

This guy bellow me is an idiot. he's the one that has been editting this page every day messing it up with bias bs. here are the links that comfirm kill season has NOT gone gold or sold well. linklinklink

Alright, now me being a Diplomat fan I can spot the obvious bias thats in this article, first off the part that states:

"Cam'rons fifth studio album, also titled Killa Season was released on May 16th, 2006, and flopped on the charts"

A word like "flopped" is obviously an insulting term instead of "did not succeed well".

And also I would like to point out that Killa Season is gold as of December 25, 2006 and sold around 700k worldwide despite the constant editing to the record sales.

The album was also critically aclaimed by Diplomat fans, most notebly on the official Diplomat site forums, as being one of Camron's best projects

Also, Killa Season marks the official abandonment of his Roc-a-fella influenced style to a new all Dipset influence, and more collaborations with sub-Diplomat artists like Max B and 40 Cal.

Clean this one up for the fans and keep it neutral.

^your lying. killa season has NOT gone gold. i checked hitsdailydouble.com, billboard.com and riaa.com, and he has ONLY sold 391,000 copies to date. damn, we definetely need to make a option to prevent dipset dickeriders like this person from constantly editting the cam'ron article and im also gay.

LOL im a huge dipset fan n i know Killa Season hasn't gone gold. Stick with the music, not the sales, WHO FUKIN CARES!!!!???

^^Big Dips fan too, good fuckin point. name01870 - 3-1-07

[edit] Shooting innaccuracies

The section on Cam'ron's shooting incident is very innacurate. First of all, this sections says that he was shot twice in his right arm and once in his left. Later on it says the exact opposite. Also, in the Washington Post article it said "...was shot in both arms after stopping..." and "I got shot three times..." So, he was shot three times but it doesn't say how many times and where. Maybe the general information is inaccurate. An article at [9] says he was shot once. So what are we to believe?
For now I have changed the text in this section to read he was shot at least one time (because this is obviously the truth). Boaf 04:17, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Let's use our wording carefully here. That article you cited says he was "struck at least once". Also, just because the Washington Post article says he was "shot in both arms after stopping", it doesn't mean he was only shot twice. You can be shot in both arms (3 times in total) and still be described as being "shot in both arms." Spellcast 12:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] college?

In the article Children of the Corn (band), it says that Cam'ron left Children of the Corn to persue a basketball carreer and then went to college. There is no mention of college here. Anyone know anything about that?
