Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius

The Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius (SJC) is a clerical Institute of Consecrated Life in the Catholic Church, founded in 1998 in the Archdiocese of Chicago as the Society of St. John Cantius (SSJC) by Fr. C. Frank Phillips, C.R., the pastor of St. John Cantius Church in Chicago. In 1999 Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago approved this Society as a public diocesan association. Society of St. John Cantius celebrates the traditional Latin Liturgy (Tridentine Mass) according to the rites of 1962, as promulgated by Pope John Paul II's motu proprio "Ecclesia Dei" of 1988, as well as the Mass according to the Missal of Paul VI (Novus Ordo) in both Latin and English. Since 2006 The Society is known as The Canons Regular of St. John Cantius (SJC). The members live in community under the Augustinian Rule.
CRSJC's motto: Instaurare Sacra (Restoration of the Sacred).
