[edit] Fictional character biography
Born one of quadruplets, Karl Courtney was always the black sheep of the family. Donning a cutlass and pirate outfit, Karl became Captain Stingaree. Being an expert swordsman, Stingaree made an excellent supervillain. In his first outing, Stingaree ran afoul of Batman. Batman used Karl's own brothers to stop him. The Courtneys dressed as Batman to give the real Batman a chance to work. Batman and the Flash captured Captain Stingaree and sent him to jail. Sometime later, Captain Stingaree joined the Secret Society of Super-Villains. Teaming up with Captain Cold and Captain Boomerang I, the three captains went on a crime spree kidnapping other captains before they were taken down by Captain Comet and Black Canary II. Stingaree remained a strictly small-time threat, committing crimes until being stopped by the Batman.
[edit] Current status
At some point Captain Stingaree and Cavalier II (Mortimer Drake) began an intimate relationship. Black Lightning used this fact to leverage information out of the closeted Cavalier.
