Talk:Captain Atom
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Was Captain Atom realy voiced by American politician Charles Christopher Cox in the episode "The Greatest Story Never Told"? The link seems to suggest so
- No it isn't. Chris Cox to whom it refers is a cartoon and video game voice artist. I'll see what I can do. --Jason Kirk 05:48, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The DC/Wildstorm offical synopsis of CAPTAIN ATOM: ARMAGEDDON #7 says: Captain Atom uses his draining power to look into the future.
Could someone who knows a bit more tell me the details of this?

[edit] Suggestions to add/edit
What, nothing about Identity Crisis? Needs to be added. Also, why have a spoiler warning in the middle when you've already revealed the info in the introduction? User:Dyslexic agnostic 22:00, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
I propose we make a separate article about the revamped Captain Atom. That one is way different.Brian Boru is awesome 16:15, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes Lets make one then!
What about the Hanna-Barbara cartoon character Atom Ant, who was created around the same time (early 1960s) and has the same battle cry? "Up and at'em, Atom Ant!" "Up and at'em, Captain Atom!"
[edit] Powers
The powers section was sorely lacking. It made it seem that he could only shoot energy blasts. I have updated it.
[edit] Merger
This is rather ridicilious in my opinion. There's no need for a split page, and there's more relevant info in this page than there is the other one. Kusonaga 13:14, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion
It should not be merged. The top half of Captain Atom is about Charlton One. No merge --Brian Boru is awesome 21:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- So? Nightshade (comics) has it the normal way too. Same as Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Peacemaker (comics), Judomaster, Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt. There is not enough information to warrant a splitting of the page. Fundamentally anyway, the two are the same character, and elements from the Charlton comics are still referenced (such as the relationship between Nightshade and Cap). Kusonaga 06:38, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- There's already a precedent here, including the Charlton version with the DC version on the same page. The modern version is the same basic character, as opposed to, say, Hal Jordan and Alan Scott who deserve separate pages. HalJor 23:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Done
I read both articles and found that, with the exception of the History and "Project Atom" introduction, virtually everything in the "Modern Age" article was verbatim in the regular "Captain Atom" article already. I merged this fresh text from the "Modern Age" into here and did some general clean-up. I'm sure it can be improved further, but at least everything is on the same page now. HalJor 03:44, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I also edited the articles that linked to the "Modern Age" article. Actually, there was only one: Monarch (comics) -- so the "Modern Age" article was nearly lost anyway. HalJor 03:47, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, mate. I totally forgot this as I went away for a weekend. Good job. Kusonaga 10:01, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bombshell
In the Teen Titans comics they introduced a character named "Bombshell" who claims to have the same powers. But she's not mentioned at all here..--Marhawkman 15:49, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- I found and linked the appropriate article.--Marhawkman 15:51, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
