Carl Ferdinand Langhans

Carl Ferdinand Langhans (1782 - 1869) was a German architect with a special interest in theatre architecture.
Born on 14 January 1782 in Breslau, Silesia, (now Wrocław), he was the son of the architect Carl Gotthard Langhans.
His designs included opera houses in Berlin and Leipzig, theatres in Breslau and Legnica, and the Berlin palace (Altes Palais) of Kaiser Wilhelm I. He is also remembered for his innovative pleorama entertainment.
He died in Berlin on 22 November 1869.
