Carolina Barco Isakson (born 1951[citation needed] in Boston, Massachusetts, United States) is Colombia's ambassador to the United States.[1]

Barco is an American citizen of Colombian parents. Her father Virgilio and her mother were living in Boston because he was studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Barco's wife gave birth to Carolina Barco Isakson.[citation needed]

Barco served as the Foreign Minister of Colombia from August 2002, when President Álvaro Uribe took office, to 10 July 2006 when she was appointed ambassador to the U.S, replacing ex-President Andrés Pastrana Arango.

She is the daughter of former President Virgilio Barco.
