Talk:Car modding
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Article needs some cleanup, but I couldn't find other articles that cover the topic (it is noteworthy... lots of parent's money and several movies have been made about the topic). So, we'll work from what's here, though it needs some work. --Interiot 23:41, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Merge to Import Scene
I'm against mergng this with Import Scene. Car modding was around before imports were veen available in the USA (goint back to the late 40s when servicemen returning to California from WWII would modify and race vehicles in the desert and on salt flats; maybe even earlier). And there are many modern car modding communities that focus on American cars.
- I'd tend to agree with you, see for instance chopped and channeled and Kustom Kulture. Also, "import" is also a bit of a POV term... certainly car modding occurs in various forms around the world, including Japan. --Interiot 03:05, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] de version of the article
For what it's worth, the de version of the article is a fair bit more thorough and encyclopedic than what we had before. I've merged over some of the document structure from it, but there's still some amount of information that could be translated over (see for instance google translate or babelfish). --Interiot 10:52, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] finding a suitable high power engine for an e-type shell
