Casbah Club is a mod rock band formed in 2004, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Simon Townshend (brother of Pete Townshend and fellow member of The Who); bassist Bruce Foxton (ex The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers); drummer Mark Brzezicki (ex The Cult, Procol Harum, Big Country); and rhythm guitarist Bruce Watson (also formerly of Big Country). Bruce Watson temporarily left the band to concentrate on his work with Four Good Men but has now re-joined.
The band's debut album Venustraphobia was released in June, 2006.
In 2006, they toured with The Who, wherein Simon Townshend played a support set as a member of Casbah Club before playing the headlining set as a member of The Who.
