The Cass Business School (officially Sir John Cass Business School, City of London) is a business school located in the City of London, England, and is part of The City University, London. It was formerly called the City University Business School. It is accredited by AMBA and EQUIS and offers Specialist Master's Programmes, MBA (Master of Business Administration) and Executive Programmes. The School is housed in a building located in the City of London, which caters predominantly for postgraduates. It also offers a range of undergraduate courses. The School offers an EMBA China programme in China which is aimed at Chinese students.

Cass has ranked very highly in recent years: Cass gained 2nd place overall in UK and 6th in Europe in the Financial Times Survey of European Business Schools 2004. In May 2006, the Social Science Research Network ranked it the international business school outside of the US with the third highest number of downloads of its faculty's papers from SSRN.[1] The School has almost 13,000 alumni globally.

Cass recently announced a second campus at Canary Wharf, catering mainly for its Executive Education wing CassExec. The campus is housed in One Canada Square.

The Cass Business School is divided into three faculties. These faculties are the Faculty of Actuarial Science, Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Management.

The Dean of the School is Professor David Currie (Lord Currie of Marylebone), who is due to step down in April 2007, to be replaced by Richard Gillingwater, who starts at the School in January.[1]

Cass Business School (Sir John Cass Business School, City of London) is part of City University. It was formerly known as City University Business School but changed its name in August 2002 following a substantial donation from the Sir John Cass Foundation, a leading educational charity.

Undergraduate Programmes: BSc Actuarial Science, BSc Banking and International Finance, BSc Business Studies, BSc Investment and Financial Risk Management (IFRM), BSc Management, BSc Risk Analysis and Insurance, BSc Real Estate Finance and Investment, International Foundation Programme, Master of European Business (MEB).

Specialist Masters Programme: Cass is the largest provider in Europe of specialist masters courses geared towards the global financial services industry, with more than 20 programmes on offer ranging from Actuarial Science through to Shipping.

Alumni: about 17,000 alumni in business globally from Berkhamsted to Beijing and from San Francisco to Istanbul. The Cass postgraduate programs draw students from more than 90 countries worldwide (Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Spain, China, Japan, USA, Lebanon and so on)

MBA: The Higher Education Funding Council of England and Wales gives Cass's business and management teaching the highest rating of ‘excellent’. The Cass MBA is recognised and accredited by both the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement Scheme (EQUIS).

Executive MBA China: In February 2003 an Executive MBA began in collaboration with SUFE (Shanghai University of Finance and Economics) and sponsored by the Bank of China. This programme is delivered through e-learning and intensive workshops taught by Cass tutors in Shanghai.

The Cass MBA is offered through a one year course of full-time development, through a two year part-time Executive MBA, or through a modular Executive MBA. The Cass Executive MBA was ranked 13th, 10th and 15th (world rankings) in 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively by FT. The full-time MBA was ranked 42nd, 60th, 47th and 73rd (world rankings) in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 by the same publication.

Cass Business School offers more than 20 specialist degrees to allow students to focus on different career paths.

Cass portfolio of degrees is unique both in terms of the breadth of the subject coverage and the depth of subject expertise. They cover a wide spectrum of specialist subject areas ranging from Banking (retail, central and investment) Asset Management and Quantitative finance, Property valuation and Investment and Management in financial services and the charity sector.
