My name is Adam, but I go by snorlax. I'm 22, and I have a really strong knowledge of random crap, which I why I'm here at the Wik. I'm from Buffalo, New York, but have recently lived in Wooster, Ohio and Washington, DC. They are both nice places. I miss the people in Ohio, and the lifestyle and sunlight in DC.
I no longer do any major edits to US political pages, as I am involved in the Democratic Party locally, and interned for Senator Charles E. Schumer*.
I once attempted to do constructive work on the George W. Bush page, because it was so long I couldn't load it on my 8 year old PC, but people yelled at me.
Some people said I was giving it a Liberal bias.
Others said I was obviously a pawn of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.
But no one actually reverted anything I did.
I just wanted to be able to read the whole article. But now the article is even longer.
So I don't do US political edits anymore.
I still might do Canadian political edits, because I get CBC here in Buffalo and the whole Canadian political system fascinates me. Especially the NDP.
And the articles are shorter (see above story).
I'd probably make a bad Canadian, but I like Canadians a lot. Especially Daniel Briere. I hope that doesn't make me too biased to do a political article.
My edit count is kind of low for a guy who has been around for nearly two years. But it would be higher if I didn't keep trying to fix pages on AfD. Those edits get deleted a lot. Usually the decision to delete was correct. Actually, I think AfD is one of the parts of Wikipedia that functions the best. But no one seems to agree with me.
Also my edit count is low because I basically took 8 months off to assimilate into the non-college world.
I think I had more fun in college.
I think I'd make a good Administrator, but I really don't like the idea of nominating myself.
Not saying that you should. I don't want a pity nomination.
I'd rather someone come across the work I do and say, "wow! that guy could really improve the encyclopedia more if he had the tools of an administrator!" or "I always thought that guy was an administrator! He does such constructive things!"
Its not for me to decide if I'm there yet. Don't even think of nominating me if I'm not.
I used to spend a lot of time clicking the random article button to make improvements, and occasionally on New Page patrol. I'd like to get back to that sometime.
I have created a few pages on Wikipedia. Not all of them are bad:

*I'd be happy to provide proof in the wake of the Essjay scandal, but I doubt anyone cares.
